Charleston This Weekend
This weekend we travel once again to beautiful Charleston, SC. It seems like we make more trips to this area each year. We are not complaining. Just a reminder, we'll be at O'Hara's on September 18. It is inside the Ramada Inn on Woodlawn Road in Charlotte. The staff there is really great and really pleased that they have asked us back. Our last show there was well attended and a great time. Large dance floor, DJ spins tunes on the breaks and you can get a room if you don't want to drive.
We hope to see you soon. Thanks for stopping by.
WCB At Harrah's Cherokee
We played Harrah's last summer - they liked us and we enjoyed playing there. We make a return trip to the casino on August 13. Show is 5-9pm. We will be posting more information about this show as it becomes available. If you are in the mountains that weekend, stop by and see us.
New Videos
A few new videos are now up on the Media page. Very simple stationary camera shots from a great show in Greenville, SC last Spring. We'll be putting additional videos up from this show over the next week or so. Currently, you can watch a variety of material from Michael Jackson to Otis Day and The Knights. Just a reminder, our reasoning concerning the YouTube videos is that they are completely live - no fixing audio or editing other than titles. You'll find we have more live material on our site than just about any other band around. Thanks for stopping by and if you sign up for our RSS feed, you'll get WCB news as soon as it is posted. Have a great week.
Rained Out and Why
Hello folks,
Our show at Hickory Tavern was rained out today and we've had some questions about why. The sun is out now and the storm is over, why isn't the band playing? Here's why: The club was supposed to provide a covered stage and they did not. Our load in was at 3pm (because we had to be set up by 5pm) and after all of our gear was set up the clouds opened up and we were caught in a torrential downpour. Due to the fact that there was no cover on the stage, the band and all of our gear were pounded directly with the violent rain, thunder and lightning storm. After 90 minutes or so, the rain subsided but everything was wet. Cables, guitars, drums, mixing boards - many thousands of dollars of equipment were soaked and quite possibly damaged.
Why didn't we move inside? Well, quite simply, water and electricity do not mix. Plugging in wet electronic gear is very risky - you can get electrocuted and possibly blow up the equipment - or both. No performance is more important than someone's safety. Gear can be replaced, people cannot. We ask for a covered stage because we have decades of experience with outdoor events and we know the potential hazards and risks associated with staging an outdoor event.
The club agreed (in writing) to provide a covered stage and they did not meet their responsibility. If the stage HAD BEEN COVERED WE WOULD BE PLAYING RIGHT NOW instead of drying out guitars. We play in Charleston tomorrow night and we are now drying gear with blow dryers and rounding up alternate equipment so that we can play.
We love playing and we would have loved playing tonight. We are very sorry that we did not get the chance. Thanks for reading and we hope to see you soon. Take care.
WCB In Charlotte This Saturday!
White Chocolate will be performing at the Ramada Inn on Woodlawn Road in Charlotte this coming Saturday July 10. O'hara's Lounge has been a legendary live music room in Charlotte since the '70's. Bands too many to mention have played this great sounding room for decades. We always have a great time there because it gives us a chance to play material that we sometimes can't do in a private event setting. The show starts at 9pm. We hope you'll come out and join us!
Wedding Cost Calculator
As I was cruising the internet today I came across an interesting item. A Wedding Cost Calculator from Project Wedding. There may be other calculators out there but this was the first one that I have seen. It's pretty neat. Plug in the number of people attending your event, your budget and zip code and the calculator will provide some price information. I hope this will prove helpful to anyone planning a event. Thanks for visiting our site.
Best,
Frank Adams
Client Thank You from 6-19-10
Every once in a while we like to put a new client comment on the site. This comment came in yesterday morning from the new Mrs. Morgan Lewis. We performed at Morgan and Ben's reception this past Saturday in Chapel Hill, NC at the historic Carolina Inn. Great occasion, 50 people from London to shake things up (we put together a Stones medley for them) along with rowdy NC folks and you've got a party. It was a great time for everyone. I'll let Morgan finish the story......
"We just wanted to write to you before we head off to the honeymoon to
say a HUGE thank you for your performance on Saturday night! It was
absolutely amazing - you guys really were the glue that tied the whole
night together, and I cannot tell you how many people came up to me on
Sunday to tell us how great they thought you guys were - you really
kept the party going and set the tone for the evening. Hope you don't
mind, but we've written down your email address for a couple of friends
getting married over the next year....
I mentioned that my sister got married in February and had (very well known expensive band) play at her wedding - I have to say (although I certainly
could never say this to her), you guys blew (very well known expensive band) out of the
ballpark. You were fantastic - thank you for making our night so
special."
Best of luck with everything!

Coming soon: We are hard at work on a new audio demo that we hope to deliver in a few months. Also, we have some new video clips that should be up in the next few weeks. If you subscribe to our RSS Feed you'll get those details as they become live on the site. As always, thanks for stopping by. We welcome your comments and questions. Have a great weekend.
Alive After Five Charlotte
Thanks to everyone who came out and braved the rain to see us last night in Charlotte. We're glad that we were able to perform since so many drove long distances to see us. It was a difficult day for us to say the least. The load in temperature was in the upper 90's and then we got pounded by rain. Libretto's Pizza (very good, by the way) loaned us a Shop Vac and we scrounged up some other items to dry our gear and the stage. Everything was damp but we managed to pull it off. We will post some pictures from the event soon. We will more than likely do another AA5 event sometime later in the summer. Again, thanks to all who came and please check out our Calendar periodically to see where we'll be performing. Have a great weekend.

Latest WCB Happenings
First, a big thank you to everyone who has commented on our new site. We appreciate your input and we have tweaked several things since the launch last week. The main goal with this new layout is to keep things simple and straightforward. This site has been designed for easy navigation so again, please send us any suggestions for making this site as user friendly as possible.
Things have been quite busy for us over the past few months. 2010 has been a year of updating for us. New website obviously, but other new things are coming as well. We just finished work on a great new rehearsal/production space which will make our lives a bit easier. You'll soon hear some great new audio and more video footage will be coming soon as well.
Also, be sure to check out the Calendar page. We have a number of public appearances coming up (another thing we plan to add more of as well) around Charlotte and we hope you'll attend. Thanks for reading and more news will be coming soon. Thanks!
